My paintings have been described as ‘joyful’. This I embrace as it doesn’t categorise me and it gives me the scope to paint what inspires me.
I paint in bright and colourful acrylics and watercolour. This past year has sent me soaring with seagulls, immersing myself in flowers and also some abstracts which are a whole new adventure!
I never start a painting with a detailed drawing, preferring to adjust and improve the composition with the paint, this works well when using acrylics.
However, watercolour needs a completely different approach and I paint these very loosely using bleach, salt, watercolour pencils and anything that makes a mark.
I hope my paintings reflect the joy that I get from living in the beautiful area of North Norfolk.
